The International Olympiad in Informatics is held annually since 2017. It was held for the first time in Bulgaria. In the Olympiad, problems that contain a large amount of information are solved by certain algorithms. The International Olympiad in Informatics is one of the most prestigious computer science competitions in the world. That is why UNESCO and IFIP are partners in this Olympiad. The International Olympiad in Informatics was organized by ADA in Baku in August 2019. 327 people from 87 countries took part in the Olympiad.
Network information systems, modern and fast internet service became necessary in the Olympiad, where certain problems are solved by algorithms through software. Ensuring information security was also important.
Based on the principles of the International Olympiad in Informatics, ED has built an IT infrastructure for the work done there. A small data storage center was established and was a key factor in keeping this data secure inside. Moreover, all internet services were provided with quality and speed through a network set up by ED. The proposed information security prevented external interference and ensured a fully transparent competition.
